FORT WORTH –Today, Dr. Jared Williams, candidate for Fort Worth City Council District 6, released the following statement in response to yet another attempt by the FWPOA to mislead Fort Worth voters just days before voting begins.
“Today, I woke up deeply disappointed.
Once again in this election, the Fort Worth POA has decided to mischaracterize respected leaders in our city - and more importantly, have continued to manipulate Fort Worth voters with misinformation.
What’s most disappointing is that their endorsed candidates remain silent - and thus complicit - with this blatant disregard for fair campaign practices at a time when our city needs healing more than ever.
I don’t believe this is how we build faith and trust in our city leadership, and I don’t believe you think so either.
Wondering why I signed the Code of Fair Campaign Practices? Because my parents - who were both educators and my dad a pastor here in D6 - raised me to understand the importance of values like honoring fairness, loving my neighbors and having an audacious belief in what we can accomplish together.
For the past 11 months, I have walked every corner of District 6 talking to thousands of my neighbors who overwhelmingly are asking for new representation that will usher justice, healing and prosperity into our neighborhoods and city.
And so starting tomorrow, we are faced with a choice: whether to elect representatives who will honor the neighborhood values we collectively hold dear and will commit to leading us with hope, not fear.”
